Rodriguez’ group is firmly rooted in the tradition of American jazz while his original compositions further extend the limits of harmony, rhythm and form.
His ensembles takes steps forward with imagination and courage in their approach, which challenges the roles and forms of conventional jazz groups, both in obvious and subtle ways. Rodriguez’ has created an intensified communication of progressive jazz, and a fascinating and airy opening, with great camaraderie and virtuosic interaction.
