grein is a collaborative project between Aaron Michael Smith & Jay Rauch, multi-instrumentalists collaborating over a distance, living in Boston and Seattle respectively. Their work explores geological structures of time that form and coalesce through iterative improvisation.

grein will be joined by percussionist, Jonathan Rodriguez

Jonathan Piper is an experimental performer based in San Diego. He plays the tuba, fiddles with electronics, and blows the jug.

Sean Francis Conway is a multi-instrumentalist and composer based in San Diego.

Nick Lesley plays drums and interactive electronics, and is the founder of the time-based art series, Space Time Art. Amy Cimini is a violist, teacher and musicologist whose work addresses power, community and technology in 20th & 21st century experimental music, sound art and auditory culture. With bassist Scott Nielsen, Cimini and Lesley also play together in the free punk trio Necking, whose album "Final Embers of Sunlight" was released in December on the Marginal Frequency imprint.
